Anxiety Therapy for Overthinkers Who Are So Busy Being StrongThat They’ve Forgotten How to Just Be
On the outside, it seems like you’re managing just fine. Inside, you’re worn down by constant overthinking, guilt, and fear. What if putting yourself first didn't have to feel like a betrayal to others, but like coming HOME to someone you forgot to take care of?
You Notice You Spend More Time Than You’d Like….
Worrying about making the perfect decision, no matter how big or small
Feel guilty when you put yourself first or speak up for yourself
Waiting until things feel perfect before you begin, or often feeling stuck & never starting because it feels overwhelming
Carrying the expectation of being the “responsible” friend who never really needs support from her community
Trying to “keep it together,” because you are afraid you may lose control, get stuck in it, or shut down
Replaying conversations in your head and worrying if you said the wrong thing
Living in the “what ifs,” to soften the impact of disappointment if or when things don’t go as planned
Overextending yourself to meet the needs of people around you, even if it leads to self-erasure
Living with anxiety means your brain is trying to protect you, even though the danger is no longer present.
You may have learned early on that being vulnerable wasn’t safe—and that showing your emotions made you “too much.” Even though you show up as caring and dependable for others, offering yourself the same understanding can impossible. The fear of rejection and judgement may keep you struggling in silence. And so you’ve learned to wear a mask, hiding the parts of yourself that feel sensitive. Your anxiety may not look like “typical anxiety,” instead it looks like having it all together and over performing. I work with people who quietly carry their emotions—those who hold fear, guilt, shame, or sadness inside, often without space to fully be themselves .
You are NOT broken. Your brain has convinced you that if you think hard enough, long enough, and careful enough you can prevent the thing you're afraid of.
With my support, you will learn to create a new way of Being.
